Just a beautiful painting, great muted color.
Last snow is another winner. Where did you go to school or where did you learn about color?
Or is it just your natural color instincts?

Thank you, Stephen.
It's wonderful to get your feedback.
I studied color at the Cape School of Art with Henry Hensche, in Provincetown, many years ago. He had us paint outside plein air with a palette knife, all day, every day for 3 months during the summer, year after year. Everything was intuitive, and we never learned about color charts or anything like that.
It took me years of conscious effort to get away from the high keyed, purple shadow look that was almost a trademark of the school.
I learned something about color from studying Scott Christensen's work, as well as the works of Sargent, Chardin, Levitan, Sorolla, Zorn, Homer, Hopper, Degas, etc.
The truth is, I always feel as if I know nothing, but I do love mixing paint.
Thanks for asking, Stephen. You're a great painter and I always enjoy seeing your work on your blog.
