Thanks, Don. This entire painting was done on location, in the sunshine, over a period of 4 to 6 days, while perched on a small wooden ramp. Painting from life is invigorating under those circumstances and I'm happy to know that you felt the 'feeling of fresh air' that was a prime motif of this painting.
Thanks, Casey. I have to admit that I wasn't consciously thinking about rhythm when I began. The yellow sail in the sunlight just took my breath away. You're right, in setting up the yellow sail as a focal point, there are many leads that take your eye back to that point and continue around the painting. Thanks for pointing this out, Casey!
