A word from our ancestors....

Excerpt from "Ernest Hemingway on Writing"

"Would like to finish this [A Farewell to Arms] down here if possible, put it away for a couple or three months and then re-write it.  The re-writing doesn't take more than six weeks or two months once it is done.  But it is pretty important to let it "cool off" well before re-writing."
-"to Maxwell Perkins, 1928 Selected Letters"

with thanks to Scott Christensen.

I'll miss seeing your new work for a while, but I completely understand wanting to do that!

Thanks, Susan! It's a experiment in freedom; I have so many new ideas to play with....The fewer constrictions I place on myself, the more the ideas flood in.
Thanks a bunch for your support.
Let's keep in touch!

good luck! sometimes it's good to just step back, step away. it gets tiring, even draining, all this doing....your work is so beautiful!

Thanks, Mary! Great to hear from you. It's been relaxing to step away; easier now to really see the work and what needs to come next. Hope that you're having a fantastic summer.
