Details and Adjustments:"Green Jar & Lemons"

Here are some close-ups, showing more of this painting's details. Again, this is the tempera underpainting.  A coat of varnish will slightly darken this, so the work will be to retain the light and airy feeling as I work in oils, which was the original intent.

I love the detail and "in progress" shots! All of your work is beautiful.

Thanks, Craig.
The in-progress shots will be more about 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. Hope to post more today.

Agreed with Craig-- the progress shots are very welcome. Thanks!

Thanks, Jason. The progress shots may start getting a little embarrassing, as I seem to make major revisions the closer I get to finish. Worked on it today and wound up moving the pitcher and adding flowers, at least temporarily.
Oh well...if painting were easy....

That's not embarrassing, Joan... it's fascinating!

Thanks Jason.... what really fascinates me is when a painting actually works. Time helps a lot.

I love the adventure- just wish that the destination would occasionally be more of a straight line rather than such a circuitous route.
