I am a professional artist living in New Orleans. Because the artist life can be a very solitary profession at times, I enjoy writing about art techniques and general inspirations. I love working in watercolors and oils and post new work in both media, as the paintings present themselves. I had the good fortune to begin my painting career by studying color and Impressionist theory with Henry Hensche in the '70's at his Cape School of Art in Provincetown, MA. Through experimentation with miles of watercolor paper and linen canvas, I have developed a healthy respect for the importance of interesting composition, beautiful values, and artistic drawing.
